Apple and Sultana Pie

Pies and Pastries

Filling of apple slices with whole sultanas and sweet spices. Served with custard. Known from school dinners from c1977, and more recently as a popular desert at catered events such as weddings.

2lbs apples, cored, peeled, chopped
2 oz sultanas
1/2 tbsp light brown sugar
1/2 lemon, juice
1/2 tsp cinnamon
1oz butter, melted
1/2 tsp sugar
Shortcrust Pastry
