Crab Cakes

Fish

Crab meat with, typically, mashed potato and breadcrumbs. Formed into patties and fried.

Crab Cakes appear to originate in the USA, known at least since an article in the Denton (Maryland) Journal of 15 June 1929; "The menu will consist of crab cakes, ham, tomato salad, slaw, biscuits, rolls, [etc.]."
