Major Grey's Chutney

Raj Dishes

Mild chutney of sliced mango with malt vinegar and sugar.

Who, if he ever existed, Major Grey was is unknown. His chutney is pretty much unknown, too, in India, but is commonplace in the USA where the ingredients of the commercial product appear to include starch, corn syrup and onion powder.

There is a poem about him called 'Rank Injustice'...
All things chickeny and mutt'ny
Taste far better when served with chutney
This is the mystery eternal:
Why didn't Major Grey make Colonel?
