Sir Robert Walpole's Dumplings

Puddings and Sweet Deserts

Suet, stale bread, currants, orange, citron, cinnamon, sugar, egg and stiff egg whites, boiled. Served with butter, wine and sugar

Known from 'Good Things in England' by Florence White (White 1932), and presumably named for Robert Walpole, 1st Earl of Orford (1676-1745), the statesman generally regarded as the first Prime Minister of Great Britain.
