A proprietary carbonated soft drink of unknown composition, but including carrot and safflower extracts. Produced from 1924 in Manchester by Fred Pickup & Co, as 'Pickup's Appetizer'. The composition is believed to have changed several times. It is now produced by AG Barr, the makers of Irn-Bru.
